Tire air pressure: Each trailer tire should have the proper amount of air pressure in them to safely tow the distance. The best way to check is air pressure is with an actual air gage.

Grease: Each axel of a rv trailer should be greased on a regular basis. This will reduce the risk of the bearings locking up causing a wheel to come off during transport.

Hitch section of trailer: Whether it is a 5th wheel, gooseneck, pintle hook, or standard ball hitch bumper pull trailer, the driver should check to make sure it is mounted securely to the trailer. Driver should look for loose parts, severe rust or any other posible problems that may create a risk during transport.

Breakaway Switch: Any trailer with electric brakes must have a breakaway switch connected to it. Driver Should make sure that it is on the trailer and it actually is in working condition. The breakaway switch automatically activates the electric brakes to stop the trailer in case the trailer breaks away from the truck that is pulling it.
